The J80 Opera Season, new boat for the club's Sailing School

The RCNP in 2014, will have a J80 to approach the club's young sailors to the cruising world. The boat has been kindly loaned by Thomas Bscher, owner of the Wally yacht, Open Season.

The club’s young sailors’ training program has impressed the member, Thomas Bscher, who is “decided to support the yacht club in these remarkable activities.”

He states that the J80 is a boat with an simple adaptation for the sailors, easy to maneuver and not too expensive to maintain”.

The optimist fleet of the RCNP, has overwhelmed the owner of Opera Season, and as he explains, “never seen so many children competing in this class in the Med, as in Palma”.

For this reason, amongst others, the German sailor has decided to loan his boat to the club’s sailing school, with the conviction that it will be a useful tool to form future professional sailors.

The excellent results obtained by the RCNP when forming young sailors in dinghy classes and the natural progress that most of these sailors will go through, by passing on to cruising classes, is now additionally

supported by the J80 Opera Season of Thomas Bscher. “The young sailors have to benefit from this positive moment very quickly, improve and gain experience on board”, adds Bscher.

“The competition on board a one design J80 is very intense, much more than on a Wally”, explains the German owner. Although he states that sailing on Open Season in the next coming PalmaVela, keeps him very excited.

2013 has been our most successful season on board my Wally and we hope to repeat the victories obtained in last year’s regattas by winning the trophy to the Best Performance Wally of the year, once more.
