The sailing school of the RCNP, a referent in the initiation phase

The club's initiation sailing school has become a national reference. This year more than 70 children practice sailing from 6 years on-wards, and hoping to include them in the different sailing teams of the club in a close future.

“Some of these children end up competing, but the rest will have enough knowledge to enjoy the sport, although the main activity the club has to develop is to form future sailors and others to simply enjoy this environment" says Manu Fraga.

All of them initiate themselves in collective boats where they learn basic sailing knowledge. Then they move on to Optimist, most of them remain in the class and sail till they reach 15 years of age.

some of these young sailors will compete for the first time in the regatta to be held this weekend and organised by the RCNP, in the Opti Group D.

The club's sailing school invites any youngster who wishes to learn and is ready to make some effort during the winter to assist the classes on Saturdays and sometimes, Sundays. All happens very early, if we can get them to like this sport, then they discover how exciting it is and then hook on to a serious sports project.
