Albert Torres wins the VII Trofeo Internacional Ciudad de Torrevieja de Optimist

The sailor of the RCNP, Albert Torres, winner of the past edition of the Optimist Excellence Cup, comes back with another triumph at the VII Trofeo Ciudad de Torrevieja, over 313 competitors from 14 different countries.

The fifteen year old, Albert, has proved a very high level in the seven races sailed with an overall advantage of 16 points over the second placed Russian, Artem Sudakov, and 18 over the third place of the Finnish sailor, Jacob Eklund. Antoni Massanet also of the RCNP finished ninth, happy to be in the Top Ten of this international regatta.

Due to the strong wind conditions, Torres initiated a good championship that ended with victory. Albert Torres, who has gained weight in this past season took good advantage of the favorable wind conditions for him with two first places and a sixth on the first competition day.

Ready for the pressure on the last competition day, Torres sailed in top conditions and ended with a first place in the first race and a third in the last race of the day.

Pedro Marí, the RCNP Optimist coach is very satisfied with the results of his team. The rest of the team to represent the RCNP at Torrevieja was Torres and Massanet, Teo Goldsmith, Biel Lladó, Giulietta Lang, Arturo Madero and Miguel Ángel Cámara, these two last ones of the Sub 12 category.
