Albert and Maria fly over the sea with foils

Movistar has succeeded in it's Master Class this past weekend in Abra, Bilbao, a class given by the Olympic sailors Iker and Xavi. Eight young sailors have been invited to this Master Class, two of them from the RCNP, Albert and Maria.

“We were very worried about the capacity of the young sailors to fly these foils, but they have proved to be real artists. Expressed Iker, very satisfied. The Movistar Master Class given this past weekend has been a real success. Iker continues explaining how surprised he is with their capacity to adapt their sailing techniques on these very different boats.

Iker and Xabi with the help of Xabis brother, Eneko (national sailing coach) taught the invited sailors how to rig the boat and some basic notions and manouvers before launching the boats.

The three coaches were the first to sail and when the wind established the young sailors made their debut out on the water on these unstable boats.

The national Opti Champion was the first to fly with the Moth and expressed her satisfaction, "I never expected to fly so much, it has been a unique experience", says Maria.

Albert Torres (RCNP), Elisa Fernández and Cristina Astorki from Santander and four sailors from the organising club, Marítimo del Abra followed with the master class.

After the four hours of flying experience, they viewed some videos with past sensations of their round the world race and participation in the Olympics, signed autographs and offered an interesting speech.

Iker concluded,“We have had wonderful sailing conditions and the Marítimo del Abra, has been very helpful with this Movistar Master. We are very happy the young sailors have been able to fly."
