Nadir V wins the Regata Audax Marina Trofeo Hispanidad

The lack of wind has been the protagonist this weekend during the Audax Marina Trofeo Hispanidad regatta, organised by the Real Club Náutico de Palma with 34 competing boats. Nadir V, of Pedro Vaquer, and representing the Club de Vela Port d`Andratx, won easily in ORC 0-1 class after winning both races.

Petrouchka III (RCNP), of Jaime Binimelis, and Airlan Aermec (RCNP), of Juan Cabrer, finished second and third. The three boats sailed tight all the way to the finishing line due to the soft and difficult wind conditions.

The first leg sailed on Saturday had to be shortened after a long wait for wind to show up in the bay of Palma. The Race committee finally gave the start between Sa Porrasa and the island of Sec and laid the finishing line close to the Port of Andratx.

On Sunday, the whole leg was sailed from Andratx to the bay of Palma, a total of 21 miles, which made the smaller boats suffer to get to the finish line.
Mestral Fast (RCNP), of Morell and Manresa won in ORC 2, followed by Silsia, owned by the fimr Ingeniería y Control de Obras, and Gran Blau (Club Nàutic de Cala Gamba) of Pere Galiana finished third. Yabadaba Too (RCNP), of Martín Aizcorbe, entered a protest against the third placed boat after a port-starboard incident during the start procedure of the second leg. The protest has not been resolved yet.

The other winners have been, Esperit Ventós (RCNP), of Juan Julià Serra, in ORC A2; Falbala (RCNP), of Bartolomé Català, in ORC3; January Sails (RCNP), of Gabriel Català, in ORC 4, and Marigan (RCNP), of Tim Liesenhoff, win Clasic and Vintage class.

The prize giving ceremony took place at the RCNP after sunday's race.
