Alan Avila wins two medals at the Marathon Europeans
The canoeist of the RCNP-OS La Caixa Alan Avila Taberner takes two bronze medals at the Marathon European Championship held this past weekend in Portugal (Vila Verde).
The mallorcan athlete won the first medal on Friday, June 7, with a third place during the individual category of C1 Sub 23.
on sunday the Senior category competitions took place, where Alan Ávila competed in C2 Class with his team mate, Carlos Vega. The distance they competed was of 25,8 kilometers taking one hour, 55 min and 47 seconds. Ávila and Vega lead from the very beginning, but lost two places. The race was finally won by the also Spanish representatives, Óscar Graña and Ramón Ferro, in front of the Hungarian team by Marton Köver and Attila Györe.
Alan's bronze medals allowed Spain to finish as the first qualified country in this European Championship.
