In 1948 the Real Club Náutico de Palma was founded, after the union of the Club España and the Club de Regatas. This boat built in 1934 by the wood craftsman (mestre d'aixa) Antonio Ferrer was the first one to moor at the new facilities. Today the boat is laying in the caves of the Bellver Castle, hoping the Maritim Museum of Mallorca to be a reality some day.

The UPV wins the University Spanish Sailing Championship

The competition, organised by the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Real Club Náutico de Palma, held three races and cancelled the last two days due to strong wind conditions and heavy rain. The UIB rector, Llorenç Huguet, awarded the winners medals and encouraged to keep on supporting sports during the college period.
