In 1948 the Real Club NÃ¡utico de Palma was founded, after the union of the Club EspaÃ±a and the Club de Regatas. This boat built in 1934 by the wood craftsman (mestre d'aixa) Antonio Ferrer was the first one to moor at the new facilities. Today the boat is laying in the caves of the Bellver Castle, hoping the Maritim Museum of Mallorca to be a reality some day.

The competition, organised by the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Real Club NÃ¡utico de Palma, held three races and cancelled the last two days due to strong wind conditions and heavy rain.
